Happy First Day, Henri!

Regular Blueberry blog commenter & fellow homebirthing mama, Jenni, had a bouncing baby boy! Henri David entered the world last night at a solid little 8 pounds & 22 inches long. Big brother and sister are no doubt thrilled with the new arrival and we can’t wait to hear all about the birth and how everyone is doing.

For those of you who don’t know, Jenni is also a client of Tammi’s. We figured out this summer that our due dates were close together and e-mailed occasionally to check in with one another. We still haven’t met in person, but the last few weeks we have e-mailed almost every day, checking in on one another in a “Did you go yet? No. Did you?” way. It has been a huge sanity saver to have someone to commiserate with on last-last grocery store trips, pre-labor silly superstitions and the constant wondering of when our big days would be here, including whether or not we’d have to share a midwife! At one point, we joked that we could just have a “group” homebirth if it came right down to it.

And thanks for letting Tammi & Lori get home in time to get a good night’s sleep before they head over to see us for Blueberry’s arrival (knock on wood) Friday!
