Breaking the News

7 March 2007

With the end of my 1st trimester finally in sight (yay!), I figure it’s time to break the news at work. Not only can my boss stop making excuses for why I’m more late than usual but I can also stop worrying about whether or not I look like I’m pregnant.  So, I need some help deciding how to do this.  I’ve thought of two alternatives:

Scenario A)  Buy a t-shirt that says, “I’m not fat. I’m pregnant.” And wear it to work on a Friday.  Respond accordingly to reactions.  But not say a word otherwise.

Scenario B)  Tape up a copy of the sonogram on my office door with a note that lists the answers (only the answers) to frequently asked questions, like:

Yes, I am.

September 24th

I don’t know yet, but yes, we’d like to know what “it” is.

I feel fine, thanks.

That’s the typical Lori-esque manner of doing things… but I’m open to suggestions.  So, vote for one of those (leave a comment) or give me your ideas.  I’m going to decide by Friday.

Although I think both ideas are great. I vote for the sonogram on the door, seems more like something you would do.

Hi Lori, I know you have NO idea who I am, but I wanted to say CONGRATS! Shad told me about your little “blueberry” as you call “it” (love that by the way!).
I read your blog today & I vote for BOTH!!! You know if you wear the shirt everyone will ask all the questions ANYWAY!!! You could just point to your door! HAHA!
Anyway, sorry to hijack, but I thought I would offer my Congrats to you and Tim!
Shad suggested I contact you, he said I “might be able to share pregnancy things” as we just added to our family (well, not JUST) but a little over a year ago.
Anyway, I included my email if you are interested in chatting.
Wishing you the best & a happy & healthy 9 months, or what’s left of it anyway! 🙂
